Are you looking for something completely different?

Golcar Farm is a working sheep farm situated on the edge of the famous Ilkley moors and is the home to Mainline Border Collie Centre and a happy bunch of working collies.

Golcar Farm offers not only spectacular views of the surrounding countryside and moors but a unique opportunity to see Border Collies at work.

Barbara Sykes and Vicki Sykes have competed in sheepdog trials at both National and International level and Barbara has written six books on canine behaviour. At Mainline Border Collie Centre along with their team of Border Collies they provide a unique service.

Watching a sheepdog demonstration is awe inspiring and Mainline Border Collies give a demonstration of just how skilled a dog has to be to work sheep, but the icing on the cake when you visit Golcar Farm is seeing how these dogs achieve this standard. You will be guided through every step of their training until you can almost ‘speak’ their language, and for the real enthusiasts there will be the unique opportunity to work with a trained sheepdog.

Barbara and Vicki will teach the basics of handling a dog and in a controlled environment Lass, Loch, Mossie and Jim will give novice handlers ‘their moment in time’ as they experience the thrill of working with a trained sheepdog.

A great day out that is both educational and fun and is an experience of a lifetime.
