Situated on the edge of Baildon Moor and Shipley Glen we are ideally located to offer a variation of rides from open moorland, to back lanes and woodland, which not only provides beautiful scenery but also an abundance of nature, both flora and fauna.

All our horses are well mannered and each one offers a different level of riding. For someone who has little experience, or maybe is a little nervous having not ridden for a while, we have some great confidence givers. But if you are an accomplished rider we have more forward going horses for you to enjoy. And let’s not forget Mouse our resident Shetland pony who, although not ridden, is always on hand to cause some mischief and make you smile.

Rides vary from one hour to half a day, for those wanting something a little different the half day ride also incorporates a stop at the local pub for refreshments. As we only take out individuals and small groups of no more than four, each ride can be tailored to suit your needs and abilities and is taken at the pace best suited to you. To ensure you are comfortable with the horse selected for you all riders are given the opportunity to familiarise themselves with it before leaving the farm.

With the unique opportunity that Country Rides offers many of our regular customers often request to ride the same horse each time. This gives them the opportunity to ride on a regular basis with a horse they know and trust without the time and expense of owning their own.

All rides are accompanied by myself, Vicki Sykes, and I am happy to converse about the locality and to have a lively conversation with you, however if you are riding with friends and wish to chat amongst yourselves I am content to talk to my horse! We are here to offer you the opportunity to enjoy a ride, be it by yourself or with a friend, to relax and to have some fun.
